The Cabin @ Atlow Mill is a romantic escape in the heart of the Derbyshire countryside, just for two. It is tucked away in the corner of Atlow Mill, right next to Henmore Brook and surrounded by rolling hills. Complete with a cosy log burner, full kitchen, double ended-bath, private deck and hot tub, it is the perfect place to relax and unwind with your favourite person.
Recently renovated to a very high standard, The Cabin is a luxury timber retreat for two people with a stylish, rustic interior and all the little extras you would expect for an indulgent getaway. The accommodation comprises:
Open Plan Living Area - that has a spacious lounge with log burner and smart TV with complementary Netflix for relaxed evenings in, dining table for two and a fully equipped kitchen including an oven and induction hob, full height Smeg fridge-freezer for supplies, dishwasher for the clearing up and Nespresso coffee machine for your morning coffee.
Bedroom – has a king-sized bed and en-suite shower room with walk-in rain shower, plus a double ended bath at the foot of the bed.
Outside space - The Cabin has its own large, private deck overlooking the stream complete with outside dining, a gas BBQ and a two person hot tub. (BBQ available April – October). Beyond the deck, guests are welcome to explore the woodland and stream and make use of the public footpath that passes the property.
Parking - The Cabin has its own dedicated parking area for up to two cars, but please be aware it is not possible to drive right up to it because of its secluded location. The parking area is about 70m away, accessed along a lit path which includes a 15m steep bank. There is an electric cart right next to the parking area to help you with your belongings. We hope you agree that the location makes up for the short walk.

Glorious stay
Thank you so much for an absolutely glorious stay in The Cabin. It was everything we could've dreamed of and more. The Cabin and surrounding area is perfect. The privacy and cosy nature is everything we wanted. The small touches (bread, butter, cake etc) was really appreciated too. The perfect place to stay the night after our wedding. Thank you so much.
PERFECT
Thank you for an amazing stay. We have absolutely loved staying in The Cabin and don't want to leave! The Bakewell tart and other supplies were such a lovely touch - and delicious! We loved exploring the local area and really enjoyed our walks. Especially around Carsington Water as recommended by James. Overall, our stay was PERFECT, and we definitely want to come back soon. Thank you James & Chloe. P.S. a special thank you to James for jump-starting our car when we accidentally let the battery drain - life-saver!

Firstly we stay in loooads of Airbnb's and this is absolutely No.1 for us. We actually sat one night trying to think of a single fault and we couldn't, even down to the shower pressure! Ha Ha! The cabin is perfect, from all the décor details, to the lovely local treats - the butter was beautiful! We don't live too far away and this was an extremely last minute book, how funny that someone from Singapore cancelled and you ended up with us from Derbyshire instead! We came with our 18 month old little boy who isn't the usual kind of guest in romantic cabins, but he was well looked after all the same. What a beautiful place and no expense spared to create it. We've loved every minute and hope to come back in summer to see the area in a new light - maybe we'll leave River at home to fully relax! 10/10, so glad we randomly decided to stay close to home, thank you for your cancellation Mr Singapore! and thank you so much James & Chloe!
The best cabin we have stayed in
We had the best time staying here for my Birthday, the decorations you put up were lovely! Thank you. We both feel this is the best cabin we have stayed in. Your warm greeting when we arrived was a very nice touch (thank you for helping with our bags!) Everything has been perfect from the second we arrived, we're struggling to find words to describe just how relaxing it is. We will be booking to stay here again and can't wait to come back!
Very much 'at home'

A restful and restorative stay
THANK YOU for a truly restful and restorative stay. There's so much to like about The Cabin and the warm welcoming way you host it. All the small little details, the twinkly lights, the starter set of local goodies, the tips on walks and fun things to do, the cork drawer handles... inhale, exhale! We have to recommend The Northern Lights cinema in Wirksworth to future guests and an EV charging point to top us up before our next adventure. A Merry Christmas to you both and I'm sure we'll be back. A thousand thanks!
A little piece of heaven...
A little piece of heaven - James & Chloe you are magicians, creating the most beautiful, peaceful, cute, well equipped, immaculately clean cabin - I have loved every minute here and I can't wait to visit again. With all my uni mates in the Cow Shed, The Cabin was the perfect bolt hole for me as an addition this year. I have had the most wonderful stay and would love to visit again. Thank You. What a wonderful place...
What a wonderful place you have here! We chose the Peak District as our 2nd wedding anniversary destination as Chatsworth House and Pride & Prejudice featured in our wedding. You have created an amazing getaway location and your attention to detail has been fantastic. We often use Airbnb and can say this has been one of our favourite spots. You can tell how much you care about making sure your guests have a wonderful time from the marshmallows to the local butter in the fridge. We spent four fantastic days exploring Winnats Pass, Chatsworth House, Bamford Edge and the drives were spectacular! Thank you for being such wonderful hosts, we hope we will be back!

best place we have ever stayed
This is by far the best place we have ever stayed. The Cabin has everything we could ever possibly need. Our favourite part was definitely the hot tub. It has been the most amazing trip and the most special place to spend my Birthday, thank you for welcoming us with such kindness on our arrival and for giving us recommendations. For anyone looking for places to visit we would definitely recommend Thors Cave and Baslow Edge. I particularly enjoyed Baslow because we got to see the beautiful cows! Thank you for such an amazing stay!
